Abstract

The performance of optimized multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) systems subject to co-channel interference was analyzed. The analysis used results dealing with the distribution of the largest eigenvalue of certain quadratic forms in complex Gaussian matrices. The output signal-to-interference (SIR) ratio of an optimized multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system was found to be proportional to the largest eigenvalue of the channel matrices for the desired user and co-channel interferers.
