Numerical simulations were carried out to analyze the onset of cavitation within concentrated vortices in the near field of circular jets at high Reynolds number. The evolution of flow was simulated, and the dynamics of microscopic seed bubbles tracked by a Lagrangian model. The dependence of the flow field, bubble distribution, and cavitation inception index of jet slenderness ratio and Reynolds number, as well as on the size of the injected seed bubbles and their injection location was clarified.
