Abstract

Organic - inorganic hybrid materials are considered new candidates in the field of thermoelectric materials. They have great potential to improve thermoelectric performance by taking advantage of the low thermal conductivity of organic materials on the one hand and the high Seebeck coefficient and high electrical conductivity of inorganic materials on the other. This Review aims to provide an overview of interfacial engineering in the synthesis of various organic - inorganic thermoelectric hybrid materials as well as the dimensional design to optimize their thermoelectric properties. The interface effects are considered in terms of nanostructures, physical properties and chemical doping between inorganic and organic components.
