Abstract

Supported catalysts, Rh/SiO2, Ru/SiO2, Pd/SiO2, Pt/SiO2 and Pd/C reduce methyloate of 3α-acetyl-11,12-dioxo-5β-cholan-24-oic acid 1 into the vicinal hydroxyketone 11-oxo,12β-OH 2 in 100% chemo-, regio- and diastereoselectivity at 100% of conversion.
