The core/shell-structured Fe nanoparticles were fabricated and studied for their structural and magnetic properties. Significant shifts in both horizontal and vertical directions were noticed when the magnetic hysteresis loops were measured at low temperature, after the particles were cooled. The coercive field and the exchange-bias field, both enhanced greatly in the field-cooled (FC) loops. It was found that for both horizontal and vertical shifts in the FC hysteresis loops, frozen spins were responsible.
