Abstract

Membrane based (petro)chemical industry exhaust air cleaning processes may be optimized through combination of a membrane step with after-cleaning by catalytic oxidation, adsorption, combustion or absorption. Vapour recovery units at the Munich-Milbertshofen VTG tank farm, a gasoline vapour recovery plant at the BP tank farm in Hamburg-Finkenweder, and a container installation of Aluminium Rheinfelden for testing of gasoline, vinyl acetate, ethyl acetate methylene chloride, methanol and hexane, are described with illustrations.
