Abstract
This paper gives a short overview of the different methods used for the evaluation of micro-motors and presents a highly sensitive-in the order of 10-6 Nm-torque measurement system for rotational devices. The torque measurement is performed by means of the cable brake principle in combination with novel, magnetostrictive bilayer sensors. The bilayers are sensitive to bending, a characteristic which is used to establish highly sensitive force sensors measuring the cable forces.
