Abstract

A method based on X-ray diffraction to isolate the Debye-Waller of a superlattice is presented and applied to the case of a (Ga73Al27)As/GaAs superlattice. It is found that the Debye-Waller factor of the superlattice is very close to that bulk GaAs. The relationship to the phonon frequencies is briefly discussed.
