Abstract

A novel paddlewheel or 'lantern' heteroleptic diruthenium guanidinate complex Ru2(TBO)2(OAc)2Cl·3MeCN (1·3MeCN) was synthesized and structurally characterized. Compared with a known tetra-substituted di-ruthenium guanidinate complex Ru2(TBD) 4Cl, 1 revealed structural dissimilarities with internal twisting.
