5. Seismic Interferometry

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

Controlled-source interferometry and ambient-noise interferometry are becoming important tools in earth science. Ambient-noise interferometry is already one of the most important methods for obtaining high-resolution imaging of the crust and upper mantle from dense continent-sized arrays. It also is valuable for estimating the temporal changes in bulk properties of the earth after a large tectonic event. Additional applications include landslide monitoring, temporal changes in the moon's velocity variations, and time-lapse changes in volcanic environments.
